General business waste
Scrummi towels are made from wood, so they're plant-based and fully compostable. The simplest option is to put used towels in with your general business waste. Across the UK, the EU and most other countries, that waste goes to an energy-from-waste facility, where it's incinerated and the energy recovered, rather than being sent to landfill.
(Sometimes the simplest option really is the simplest option.)

Commercial composting
Turn your used towels into compost instead. The full Scrummi range can go into commercial composting alongside other non-food compostables, things like food packaging and coffee cups. Scrummi towels are TÜV Austria certified industrially compostable to EN13432 (Seedling certification, reference 7P2335).

Specialist salon waste collector
Prefer to leave it to the experts? A specialist salon waste collector will process and compost your used Scrummis properly, without you having to think about it. A few independent providers worth looking into (not Scrummi partners, just useful contacts):
UK: First Mile, Full Circle, Green Salon Collective, Salon Cycle (Terracycle) or Waste Managed.
US, Canada or EU: Green Circles.

Home composting
Scrummi is a professional product, so we haven't independently tested it for home composting, and we wouldn't call it your main option. That said, some customers do take their used towels home and add them to their own compost bin.

One to flag: not for paper recycling
Scrummi towels can't go in with paper recycling. Both are made from wood, but our fibres are a different shape and size to paper fibres. That's exactly what makes Scrummi towels strong enough to do their job, and why they won't break down in a paper recycling line.
(Strength and recyclability don't always pull in the same direction.)
