Behind the B: What B Corp Month Means to our Team

Behind the B: what B Corp Month means to our team

Every March, the global B Corp community comes together to celebrate what it really means to run a business as a force for good. And here at Scrummi — a B Corp certified beauty and salon supplier — we couldn’t be more excited to join in.

But here’s the thing: while B Corp Month gives us a brilliant moment to shout about our values, we’re living them every single day. People, planet and purpose aren’t something we switch on in March and off in April. They’re baked into everything we do.

This March, we’re celebrating the community, the commitment and — most importantly — our brilliant team.

Where it all started

We first became a Certified B Corporation in September 2022 — a milestone we’re incredibly proud of. It wasn’t just a box-tick. It was a declaration: that Scrummi exists to do more than sell sustainable salon towels. We’re here to prove that a small business can operate with big ambition, high standards, and genuine accountability to the people and planet it affects.

And then, in December 2025, we went further. We re-certified as a B Corp beauty brand with a score of 103 points — up from 87.5 when we first certified. That increase isn’t just a number. It’s evidence of real, sustained progress across five key areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

What we’re doing this B Corp Month 2026

This year, we’re marking B Corp Month in three very Scrummi ways:

Great British Beauty Clean Up — Monday 2nd March

We’re proud supporters of the Great British Beauty Clean Up — and this month, we went all in.

On Monday 2nd March, members of the Scrummi team attended the official Great British Beauty Clean Up launch event in Hyde Park, London, alongside fellow sustainability-conscious brands who share our values. It was a brilliant morning — full of energy, shared purpose and the kind of conversations that remind you exactly why this work matters.

Back at base, we’re keeping that momentum going with a dedicated beauty waste recycling bin for our team and partners. You know all that beauty packaging that can’t go into your kerbside recycling? Mascara wands, foundation tubes, empties with mixed materials? Our recycling bin gives it a proper home. It’s a small action with a genuinely big impact — and it’s something we’re encouraging our whole community to get behind.

B Corp Brunch — Tuesday 10th March

We’re kicking off the week by doing what B Corps do best: celebrating our people. On Tuesday 10th March, the Scrummi team is coming together for a B Corp Brunch to mark the occasion, reflect on what we’ve built and share some love for the incredible humans who make it all happen.

Because businesses aren’t just logos and products. They’re people. And ours are pretty special.

People and purpose — always on

Prioritising people and purpose above profits isn’t a campaign for us. It’s not a March thing. It’s every day. From how we work with suppliers to how we support our team, it’s the standard we hold ourselves to — and the standard B Corp holds us to, too.

B Corp Month 2026: behind this simple symbol

This year’s B Corp Month theme is all about what’s behind the logo. That familiar little ‘B’ is more than a certification mark — it’s a visible commitment to people, the planet and continuous improvement. Every B Corp is different, but this shape signals a common goal.

And the movement is growing. Right now, there are over 10,300 Certified B Corps across 103 countries and 160 industries. In the UK, there are now over 2,700 certified B Corps — up from 2,300 in 2024, which means the opportunities to collaborate and create impact are greater than ever. That’s a lot of sustainable businesses choosing a better way.

The stats behind the movement speak for themselves:

  • Over the last two years, more than 70% of the UK B Corp community got involved in B Corp Month — and this year the community is bigger than ever
  • 57% of European consumers consider sustainability certifications when making purchasing decisions
  • Nearly 1 in 4 Europeans now recognise the Certified B Corp mark
  • B Corps outperform ordinary businesses on revenue growth, talent acquisition and social impact
  • 49% of people factor sustainability into their job choices — making B Corp a genuine draw for talent

Why our team loves working for a B Corp

One of the best things about being a B Corp beauty business is that it attracts people who genuinely care. We asked our team what it means to work here — and here’s what they said:

“I love working for a B Corp because it builds a team culture where doing the right thing is THE standard. I am surrounded by people who genuinely care about impact, accountability, and winning the right way.” — Damien

“I love working for a B Corp because it means making a small contribution to something truly big. Achieving — and continually retaining — B Corp status is no easy task, and I’m incredibly proud to be part of an organisation that meets such rigorous standards. When everyone plays their part, even in small ways, we can create meaningful, collective change for our planet.” — Dagmar

“Working for a B Corp means being part of a company that reflects what I care about. It gives my work purpose beyond the day-to-day tasks and makes me proud to know that what I’m contributing to has a positive impact.” — Caroline

“Working for a B Corp means being part of a business that values purpose as much as performance.” — Amber

“I love knowing the work I do contributes to something bigger. Being part of a B Corp means the work isn’t just about business growth — it’s about making a positive impact too.” — Kirsten

“I love working for a B Corp because Scrummi cares about social and environmental performance.” — Helena

In good company

One of our favourite things about being a B Corp beauty brand is the community it puts us in. We work alongside some genuinely brilliant fellow B Corps in the professional beauty space, including Blue Tit, Clarins, Elemis and Comfort Zone. Together, we’re proving that putting people and planet first makes you better at what you do — not worse.

And the professionals who choose Scrummi are part of this too. Every Scrummi used in a salon, spa or clinic is a vote for a more sustainable, responsible beauty industry. You’re not just reducing laundry — you’re joining a movement.

So what does B Corp certification actually mean?

It’s a fair question. B Corp certification is awarded by B Lab, an independent non-profit. To earn it, businesses must score 80+ points across five impact areas:

B Corp certification logo — Scrummi is a Certified B Corporation scoring 103 points

  • Governance — how the business is run and who it’s accountable to
  • Workers — pay, benefits, training, wellbeing
  • Community — local impact, supply chain, diversity
  • Environment — emissions, waste, resource use
  • Customers — ethics, transparency, service standards

You can’t buy your way to a B Corp score. You have to earn it — and re-earn it every three years. That’s what makes it mean something.

Want to be part of it?

Whether you’re a salon, spa or beauty professional, when you choose Scrummi, you’re choosing a B Corp certified supplier that holds itself to the highest standards. Not just in product quality, but in how we show up for our team, our community and our planet.

And if you’re curious about what a B Corp future looks like for your own business, we’d love to be part of that conversation. Explore the B Corp directory to find sustainable beauty suppliers, partners and stockists who share your values.

Happy B Corp Month. ❤️
