Great British Beauty Clean Up 2026: Scrummi Champions UK Beauty Recycling

This March, Scrummi is proud to support the Great British Beauty Clean Up 2026, the UK’s leading collaborative campaign dedicated to improving beauty recycling, reducing beauty waste and accelerating sustainable beauty practices nationwide.

Led by the British Beauty Council’s Sustainable Beauty Coalition, this month-long national initiative brings together brands, salons, spas and retailers to rethink how beauty packaging is used, reused and recycled.

Importantly, the campaign takes place during B Corp Awareness Month, making March a powerful moment for purpose-driven brands to spotlight responsible business, circularity and environmental accountability. As a brand committed to reducing waste and supporting beauty recycling in the UK, Scrummi is proud to stand behind both movements.

What Is the Great British Beauty Clean Up?

The Great British Beauty Clean Up runs throughout March and aligns with key global sustainability dates, including:

  • Global Recycling Day (March 18)
  • United Nations International Day of Zero Waste (March 30)

The campaign focuses on tackling one of the beauty sector’s biggest challenges: hard-to-recycle beauty packaging.

Its key aims include:

  • Improving access to beauty recycling schemes across the UK
  • Supporting take-back programmes for difficult-to-recycle beauty products
  • Encouraging refill and reuse solutions
  • Educating salons, spas and consumers on how to reduce beauty waste
  • Expanding visibility of recycling locations through a national campaign map

Following a successful debut in 2025, the 2026 Clean Up builds on industry momentum to drive even greater awareness and participation across the UK beauty ecosystem.

Scrummi Supporting the 2026 Campaign

As part of the 2026 campaign, Scrummi will join fellow eco-conscious brands and industry leaders at the official Great British Beauty Clean Up launch meet-up hosted by the British Beauty Council.

This industry gathering marks the start of the national campaign and provides an opportunity for brands to align sustainability goals, share progress and strengthen collaboration around beauty recycling and circularity.

We are proud to stand alongside organisations committed to building a more responsible and waste-conscious beauty sector.

How Salons & Spas Can Get Involved

The campaign provides a practical opportunity for salons, spas and professional beauty businesses to strengthen their sustainability credentials.

Here’s how your business can participate:

  • Introduce or promote beauty take-back and recycling schemes
  • Install designated collection boxes for hard-to-recycle beauty packaging
  • Educate clients about what can and cannot be recycled
  • Register your business on the campaign’s national recycling map
  • Spotlight refillable, reusable or lower-waste retail options
  • Use March (B Corp Month) to communicate your sustainability commitments

Even small operational changes can significantly reduce landfill waste and demonstrate leadership in sustainable beauty.

Building a More Circular Beauty Industry

The Great British Beauty Clean Up represents a shift in how the beauty industry approaches packaging, consumption and responsibility.

At Scrummi, we believe sustainable beauty should be standard practice across the sector. By improving access to beauty recycling, supporting circular solutions and collaborating across the industry, we can collectively reduce waste and build a more resilient future.
